Nurturing Inspired Excellence and Lifelong Learning

Nestled on a beautiful 10-acre property in Mt Helen, on the outskirts of Ballarat, Ballarat Steiner School offers a nurturing and enriching educational environment where children are supported to grow into confident, compassionate, and capable individuals.

Our school provides a seamless journey from Playgroup and Kindergarten through to Class 6, guided by an evidence-based curriculum that integrates academic learning with creativity, nature, and social development. At Ballarat Steiner School, we believe education should inspire excellence and foster a lifelong love of learning.

For 25 years our dedicated and talented educators have been supporting children to thrive.

Steiner education prepares children for all aspects of life—intellectually, emotionally, and socially—empowering them to move confidently into secondary school and beyond.

Meet our Head of School

Hello, and thank you for exploring our website to learn more about Ballarat Steiner School and Kindergarten.

I joined the school in 2023, relocating from NSW, and feel privileged to work alongside a dedicated team of teachers and administrative staff in such a beautiful environment.

Our school began 25 years ago through the vision and hard work of a small group of parents passionate about Steiner education. From modest beginnings in Brown Hill, and through the commitment of many families and staff, we have grown into a thriving school on a stunning ten-acre site with purpose-built facilities, open spaces, a dam, and abundant wildlife. We remain close-knit, with the goal of offering a high school education in the future.

My career in education spans more than two decades across three Steiner schools and several mainstream high schools. I have taught science from Kindergarten to Year 12, served as Head of Primary, and led curriculum development in a new Steiner high school. I have also worked extensively with students with mild to severe learning difficulties, supported wellbeing programs, and taught gifted and talented students. These roles have deepened my commitment to creating inclusive, inspiring learning environments that balance academic, creative, and personal growth.

Steiner education, over 100 years strong, prepares students to be grounded, compassionate, and capable of thriving in any path they choose.

I warmly invite you to book a tour and experience our school in person.
