Bus Service Information

The Steiner School has a morning and afternoon bus service with CDC public buses.

The morning bus departs Little Bridge St. at 8.25am.  The stop is directly opposite the UFS pharmacy on Little Bridge Street.  As this stop can be very busy, it may be easier to catch the bus further up Sturt Street outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral. There is a bus stop there with easy parking just over Dawson Street South on the south side.

The bus can be caught from any stop along Sturt Street or Drummond Street and then Skipton and Albert Streets in Sebastopol. The Bus  travels  to the school to arrive at approximately 8.50am where the bus terminates. The bus is a “School Special”, with the majority of passengers being from our school and a few from Phoenix College and Ballarat Christian College who alight in Sebastopol.

In the afternoon, the bus picks the children up from the school at 3.45pm and drops them  off at the L.T.Fraser Reserve (next to the skate park) in Main Rd at approximately 4pm. The children travel alone in the afternoon and although it is a public bus,  the bus does not pick up other passengers nor stop at any other stop.

The bus has been a huge success, with over 20 students from prep to class six using the bus service daily.  This results in fewer cars at the school and a great saving in time and fuel.  It also works very well for the children to have a relaxing social start to the day.

Myki cards are now required by all students traveling on the school bus and ordinary bus fares apply.  Fares are fully refunded through the conveyance allowance scheme.
